"Bhagavad Gita begins with Dhrutrashtra asking Sanjay, “What did my sons and sons of Pandu, the battle eager assembled at the Kurukshetra do?”
Engrossed in the blind love for his son, Dhrutarashtra wanted Sanjay to provide him the updates on the events taking place on the battlefield of Kurukshetra.
Sanjay, his charioteer was blessed with divine vision by Maharshi Ved Vyas, which allowed him to see events happening miles away. He was able to describe every event of the war in detail."

"Sanjay said, the ferocious aggressiveness of the Pandav army on the battlefield is just like the foreboding of the oncoming worldly deluge.
The loud uproar of the battle eager Pandav army, the chaotic cacophony of battle, encompassing intense noises from warriors, sounds of conchs, drums, and the battle cries, which evoked both fear and bravery is like the deadly poison Kalkut erupting all over.
The roaring Pandav army is like the wrathful powerful fire under the ocean called Vadavagni, an all-consuming fire that lay waste to everything in its way. It awaits the moment it could emerge and burst forth as volcanoes from under the sea, consume its waters and escape.
Vadavanal or Vadavagni is the fire under the sea in the shape of a mare. This submarine fire causes the sea water to evaporate and turn into mist, thus preventing the sea from overflowing on to the land. It is said that at the time of Pralaya, Vadavagni will stop doing this, causing the ocean to expand and submerge the earth. The fire of the submarine mare will burst forth in the form of volcanoes. Everything will be destroyed by lava and water.

The mighty Pandav army in various battle formations, or vyuhas, to gain tactical advantage looked dreadful. It looks like a huge mass of clouds with lightening flashes in its midst.
Despite the frightening appearance of the mighty Pandav army, Duryodhan belittled it just like a lion don't seem at all upset by the presence of elephants.
Then Duryodhan, having seen the military might of Pandavas arrayed in battle order, approached Guru Dron and made him take note of the military formations or vyuhas of Pandav army, appearing as moving impregnable hill-forts, formed by the instructions of Drushtadyumna who is also Acharya's disciple and the son of king Drupad."
