"And therefore said Lord Krishna to Arjun, just like attractive appearance not necessarily means meaningful, the glimpses of happiness in sense gratification ultimately culminate into sufferings. It is the ignorance that makes the sense gratification habitual. Just like the worms in the pus do not find the infection repulsive, there are those who do not find anything odd in their surroundings due to their ignorance. The sense gratification itself is life for the ignorant just like water is to the fish and swamp is to frogs. The dispassion to the senses is the only way to overcome the otherwise irresistible pull of the sense gratification. The vicious circle of senses and their gratification is going on since time immemorial culminating into the sufferings of the endless cycle of birth, death and rebirth."
