"Lord Krishna said to Arjun, the three gunas Sattva, Raja and Tama are present in everyone and everything. The Vedas are too not an exception. The Vedas are generally considered to have two parts, a part presenting the rituals and the part revealing the wisdom of the Vedas. The Upanishads reveal the underlying truth of the Vedas and therefore considered to belong to the Sattva Gun. Apart from this the ritualistic karma like yadnya meant for the gratification of heavenly worldly pleasures all belong to Raja and Tama Gun. They lead to sufferings. And therefore transcend the three Gunas and get rid of “I, Me and Mine” at the earliest. Let all your thrust be on attaining the ecstasy of Self."
