II श्रीराम जय राम जय जय राम II

जरी वेदें बहुत बोलिलें I विविध भेद सूचिले I तऱ्ही आपण हित आपुलें I तेंचि घेपें II 260 II
जैसा प्रगटलिया गभस्ती I अशेषही मार्ग दिसती I तरी तेतुलेहि काय चालिजती I सांगें मज II 261 II
कां उदकमय सकळ I जऱ्ही जाहलें असे महीतळ I तरी आपण घेपें केवळ I आर्तीचजोगें II 262 II
तैसे ज्ञानी जे होती I ते वेदार्थातें विवरिती I मग अपेक्षित तें स्वीकारिती I शाश्वत जें II 263 II

"Though the pros and cons of the ritualistic karmas have been elaborately described in the Vedas, it is up to us to choose from them what is good for us. Just like the rising sun lights up all the paths, yet we have to choose ours or even though the large portion of the earth is covered by water, yet we look only for whatever we need. Similarly the truly wise contemplate the underlying truths of the Vedas and absorb the wisdom as needed."

म्हणोनि आइकें पार्था I याचि परी पाहतां I तुज उचित होय आतां I स्वकर्म हें II 264 II
आम्हीं समस्तही विचारिलें I तंव ऐसेंचि हें मना आलें I जे न सांडिजे तुवां आपुलें I विहित कर्म II 265 II
परी कर्मफळीं आस न करावी I आणि कुकर्मी संगति न व्हावी I हे सत्क्रियाचि आचरावी I हेतूविण II 266 II

"And therefore considering all this it is appropriate for you to follow your sva-karma (one's own action) according to your sva-dharma (one's own duty). The deep reflective thought suggests that your duty as a warrior is to fight, but you should do so without any attachment to the results. Follow your sva-dharma steadfastly but without attachment said Lord Krishna to Arjun, but refrain from the evil doings."
