"Arjun said to Lord Krishna, earlier You explained to me the importance of renunciation. Yet You are also the proponent of Karma Yog or Path of Selfless Service. These seemingly opposite things have kind of confused me. Please enlighten me about which of these two is better from the point of view of putting them into practice and can be pursued diligently. Because following them should be as smooth as travelling in a palanquin, an enclosed, chair-like structure that were carried by four or more people, using poles attached to the sides, used to provide comfort to the traveller. Lord Krishna was amused by what Arjun said. He assured Arjun that the path He suggest would be easy. What can be lacking if giver is the Supreme Lord Krishna Himself, just like a child whose mother is wish fulfilling cow Kamdhenu, can have even the moon as his playmate.
A young boy named Upamanyu, through intense devotion to Lord Shiva, performed a severe penance and was granted an entire ocean of milk by Shiva, fulfilling his desire to provide an abundance of milk that his mother was unable to provide due to their poor circumstances. One must not hesitate to ask when the Supreme Lord, the ultimate source of all things, bestower of everything from life and sustenance to blessings and grace stand before you eager to fulfill your desires. All that Arjun sought was wholeheartedly bestowed upon him by Lord Krishna. Let me now have your ears to What Lord Krishna said to Arjun."
