"The Pandavas had many allies in the Mahabharat war, prominent among them were Panchals lead by Drupad and his sons Dhrushtadyumna and Shikhandi, Satyaki, a powerful warrior belonging to Vrushni clan of the Yadavas', the mighty Kashya, the King of Kashi, along with young and valiant warrior Abhimanyu, the son of Arjun. All of them blew their conches. The loud incantation of this cumulative sound  struck like a thundering ear-splitting blow. It scared Sheshnag who holds earth on his head as well as Kurma or turtle who supports the earth on his back so much that both were about to take off their support. This distabilised the very realm of the three worlds thereby making the giant Merumandar mountain lose its balance. The tall ocean waves due to this upheaval competed with the peak of Mount Kailash. The bottom of earth wobbled. The sudden harsh sound shattered the sky and shining stars scattered the earth. There was a panic in Satyalok or the realm of Lord Bramha as if His very creation is on the verge of a worldly deluge. The three worlds rumbled with panic as the darkening sky cast it's shadow on earth overshadowing the sun. Seeing that these massive upheavals may turn into the end of this very universe, Adipurush or Supreme Lord Krishna intervened and subdue it's intensity. Yet, the reverberations of the sound left behind were enough to cause the panic in Kaurav army. This reverberating sound pierced the hearts of Kaurav warriors as ferociously as the lion kills the herd of elephants. Hearing the frightful roar of this sound sapped out strength of many warriors even while standing, that made them caution each other."

तेथ बळें प्रौढी पुरते I महारथी वीर होते I तिहीं पुनरपि दळांते I आवरिलें II 164 II
मग सरिसेपणें उठावले I दुणवटोनि उचलले I तया दंडीं क्षोभलें I लोकत्रय II 165 II
तेथ बाणवरी धनुर्धर I वर्षताती निरंतर I जैसे प्रळयांत जलधर I अनिवार का II 166 II
तें देखलिया अर्जुनें I संतोष घेऊनि मनें I मग संभ्रमें दिठी सेने I घालितसे II 167 II
तंव संग्रामीं सज्ज जाहले I सकळ कौरव देखिले I तंव लीलाधनुष्य उचलिलें I पांडुकुमरें II 168 II

"Despite the commotion, the experienced warriors among the Kauravas' managed to regain the control. They regrouped and with renewed vigour attacked again but this time with brutal force. The realm of three worlds was in uproar again. The torrent of arrows from archer warriors was as fierce as the overpowering clouds closing in during the worldly deluge. Seeing this aggression, Arjun picked his Gandiv bow and was ready for the battle."
