"Let me draw your attention to another reprehensible thing that may happen as it's consequence, said Arjun to Lord Krishna. It may become a precedence for others to follow. Just like a house on fire burns neighbouring houses as well, people are influenced by the environment in which they live and the people they interact with. Bad habits tend to form faster than good habits. The larger familial community displaying strongly disapproved behavioural traits is doomed to suffer horribly in hell forever. My beloved Lord said Arjun, I have been talking to you for a long time, yet you haven't reacted to it at all as if you have made your heart rock hard. Arjun continued, what is the use of the kingdom and its pleasures, if the body or the material existence around which everything revolves itself has a fleeting nature? Is there any bigger sin than looking at our highly respected and revered elders as our enemies?"

आतां यावरी जें जियावें I तयापासूनि हें बरवें  I जें शस्त्र सांडूनि साहावे I बाण यांचे II 265 II
इयावरी होय जितुकें I तें मरणही वरी निकें I परी येणें कल्मषें I चाड नाहीं II 266 II

"Arjun said, instead of living like this it is better to throw away the weapons and welcome their arrows piercing us and killing us, because such death is far better than willfully committing this gross wrongdoing."

ऐसें तिये अवसरीं I अर्जुन बोलिला समरीं I संजयो म्हणे अवधारीं I धृतराष्ट्रातें II 267 II
मग अत्यंत उद्वेगला I न धरत गहिंवरू आला I तेथ उडी घातली खालां I रथौनियां II 268 II

मग धनुष्यबाण सांडिले I न धरत अश्रुपात आले I ऐसें ऐक राया वर्तलें I संजयो म्हणे II 272 II
आतां यावरी तो वैकुंठनाथु I देखोनि सखेद पार्थु I कवणेपरी परमार्थु I निरूपील II 273 II
ते सविस्तर पुढारी कथा I अति सकौतुक आइकतां I ज्ञानदेवो म्हणे आतां I निवृत्तीदासु II 274 II

"Sanjay said to Drutrashtra, so said Arjun on the battlefield Kurukshetra. Now please be all ears to what followed. The dejected Arjun overwhelmed with grief couldn't cope with it and jumped out of the chariot. His crestfallen state can only be described as a prince stripped of his princehood or the Sun eclipsed by Rahu or a yogi robbed of his spiritual prowess because of engaging his extraordinary powers or psychic abilities (Siddhis) for material gains. The deeply saddened Arjun cast aside his bow and arrows. He was moved to tears, said Sanjay.
Hereafter what follows is, in a profound exchange, Lord Krishna, the embodiment of the divine, establishes the legitimacy and significance of the wisdom he's about to impart to utterly dejected Arjun, says Dnyanadev, the disciple of ShriNivrruttinath."
