परी उदकीं जाली बाबुळी I ते उदकातें जैसीं झांकोळी I कां वायांचि आभाळीं I आकाश लोपे II 60 II
हां गा स्वप्न लटिकें म्हणों ये I परि निद्रावशें बाणलें होये I तंव आठवु काय देत आहे I आपणपेयां II 61 II
हें असो डोळ्यांचें I डोळांचि पडळ रचे I तेणें देखणेपण डोळ्यांचें I न गिळिजे कायि II 62 II
तैसी हेमाझीच बिंबली I त्रिगुणात्मक साउली I कीं मजचि आड वोडवली I जवनिका जैसी II 63 II
म्हणऊनि भूतें मातें नेणती I माझींच परी मी नव्हती I जैसीं जळींचीं जळीं न विरती I मुक्ताफळें II 64 II
पैं पृथ्वीचा घटु कीजे I सवेंचि पृथ्वीसि मिळे तरी मेळविजे I एऱ्हवीं तोचि अग्निसंगें सिजे I तरी वेगळा होय II 65 II
तैसें भूतजात सर्व I हे माझेचि कीर अवयव I परी मायायोगें जीव- I दशे आले II 66 II
म्हणोनि माझेचि मी नव्हती I माझेचि मज नोळखती I अहंममताभ्रांती I विषयांध झाले II 67 II
"Algae, the plant that grows mainly in water covers water so much that the water looks green or clouds appear as if they envelope the sky. The dream is unreal, yet till one is fast asleep, there is no reminder of even his own self. The clouding of the lens of the eye as if the eye inflicts a veil upon itself obstructs the vision. Such is the 'Triguna Maya', composed of the the three gunas' Sattva, Rajas, Tamas that creates the illusionary world. This illusion is difficult to overcome because it is deeply ingrained in the material nature. This illusion is My shadow said Lord Krishna to Arjun, a veil that hides the True Self, the eternal, unchanging consciousness that resides within all beings from our direct perception. This is the reason the beings do not recognize Me. I am their source but they are not Me. Pearls are born in water, yet they don't dissolve in water. A pot made of clay mixed with clay becomes one with it. However if the clay pot is subjected to fire, its composition changes, it no more remains a clay pot. Similarly all the beings are parts of Me, yet assume living state due to Maya. They are born of Me, but they don't recognize Me. The delusion of "I" Consciousness has made them forget Me."
