"Listen attentively said Lord Krishna to Arjun. One of the major impediments to attaining the ecstasy of the Self is the strong inclination to worldly pleasures. The Jeev (individual being) by nature is eternally content. However as soon as it comes in contact with the senses it deviates from its path. The profound impact the senses have on the Jeev is called Kam. An unruffled person exudes a natural sense of tranquility and groundedness that is deeply admirable. Such individuals, the Sthitapradnya possess emotional intelligence, allowing them to detach from the momentary whirlwind of external events while maintaining an authentic sense of self."
