"In the meantime, said Lord Krishna to Arjun, the heat generated by the posture leads to the awakening of Kundalini. Like a reddish skin newborn of female cobra lying curled up in three and a half turns, dormant, and facing down. It sits like a blazing fire lying folded or a ring of lightening or a bangle of pure gold. The Kundalini sits tight in the navel. The pressure by Vajrasan activates Kundalini. And then just like a falling star, or the sun changing it's position or a seed of light taking root and sprouting, the Kundalini uncurls, unfurls and stands on the navel. Already famished of many days or extremely hungry due to prolonged lack of food, adding to being awakened by pressure by Vajrasan makes it open it's mouth wide upwards. The fire blazing from its mouth meet the Apan Vayu already reached at the bottom of heart, and together they wreak havoc, tearing the flesh off the bones and eating it in lumps with relish. In this way no flesh in the body remains untouched, not even the heart. The flesh on the soles of feet, the palms of hands is also not spared along with the flesh on the upper torso or the part of the body above the waist. The same happens to the flesh on the lower part of the body and even to the flesh on the underside of the nails. When the flesh is flushed out then comes the turn of the bones. It sucks the hollow of the bones and carves even the sides of the veins. This ceases the growth of hair on the outside."
