"Arjun is utterly astounded by the divine manifestations and glories revealed by Lord Krishna, feeling overwhelmed by the magnificence and vastness of the universal form.
Arjun realized that this vision is a gift of boundless grace from Lord Krishna, a rare privilege that confirms the entire Creation is a divine play of the Lord. That which is addressed by You as "Yourself", through whose Sankalpa, a one pointed firm resolve, the universes come into being, evolve, and get destroyed. From the original form You manifest as Dvibhuja - an avatar or incarnation with two arms or Chaturbhuja - an avatar with four arms. Their purpose is to restore balance by aiding the devas (celestial beings) and humanity against powerful asuras (demons), and to impart divine lessons of courage, righteousness, and compassion. In the Kshirsagar (Ocean of Milk), You are Sheshnag, the divine serpent on whom Lord Vishnu rests, The ten avatars of Lord Vishnu are: Matsya (Fish), Kurma (Turtle), Varaha (Boar), Narasimha (Man-Lion), Vaman (Dwarf), Parashuram (Warrior-Sage), Ram, Krishna, Buddha, and Kalki. An avatar is an incarnation, or representation, of Lord for a specific purpose. When the purpose is served, the enactment ceases. The perceived "avatar" or individual identity is seen as a temporary, limited manifestation of a larger, unified consciousness that is beyond all forms. When the illusion of separateness dissolves, the individual's true, non-dual form—which is the same as the universal consciousness—is recognized. He, whom the congregation of yogis contemplate through inner vision, is praised by Upanishads, the Sanakadi Muni, also known as the Four Kumaras—Sanaka, Sanandana, Sanatana, and Sanatkumara who with their unwavering, selfless love and dedication to Lord Vishnu have His worship as the core of their devotion. Arjun eagerly awaits to see Vishwaroop, the infinite cosmic form of Lord Krishna that is often heard but never displayed. My beloved Lord said Arjun, You have been my support through and through and provided me everything needed, yet I still hold one more, an intense desire. I yearn to see Vishwaroop, Your cosmic, universal form, encompassing all of existence. It is that which demonstrates that the Supreme Lord is the ultimate source and essence of all Creation, embodying a beginningless and endless existence."
