"When a rod of wood is pressed and rubbed with force over another firmly held wood, the friction causes the fire to manifest. Similarly the heat of the devotional state of mind and a firm foundation of acute sense of discrimination coming together resolutely struck the spark of KNOWLEDGE that turned into KNOWLEDGE-Fire. After the smoke in the initial stages was dispersed the KNOWLEDGE-Fire was aided by the body lightened by yama-niyamas'. An offering to this KNOWLEDGE-Fire were the vaasanas', the past impressions or the sense entanglements. The fire started roaring when the clarified butter in the form of ego and attachment was poured into it. The last offering was of the inhailed breath directed to fire by a ladle that culminated into the completion of the yadnya. The offering to the fire in the form of bliss of Self Realization is then consumed by the performer of the yadnya. Few attained liberation by such rituals. The rituals may be different, yet all are performed to attain the Supreme Realisation in the end."
