Lord Krishna said, this was Dnyan yog by Sankhya in brief. Now listen to Buddhi yog by Karmayogi in detail. It is performing actions without attachment to the results,
attaining which Karma doesn't become a bondage.

"Just like wearing an armour made of stone can repel an overwhelming barrage of weapons thus making the wearer invincible, similarly by Buddhi yog or doing karma with a conscious thought of non attachment protects not only the material loss but it unlocks the door to liberation as well. Sankhya, meaning the analytical approach of understanding reality through knowledge is included in Buddhi yog. Sankhya Yog emphasizes the distinction between Purush, the eternal consciousness, and Prakruti, the ever-changing material world, the relationship between man and matter. This is because Buddhi yog implies performing actions or deeds with a selfless attitude, where the motivation is not to gain any personal benefit or reward, but simply to do what is right or helpful, without attaching yourself to the outcome or results. Just like an exorcist who frees a person from demon possession remains safe from it, similarly Buddhi yog helps one in having a mind open to everything, but attached to nothing.
The balanced intellect in action and action in inaction (It is action that is done with commitment, but with detachment towards personal gains) is untouched of good and bad deeds, and is very subtle. It remains uninfluenced by the trigunas', the integral constituents of the mind. (Sattva, Rajas and Tamas). Even it's dawn within is enough to help one rise above the mundane existence once and for all."
