तो म्हणे अवधारी देवा I म्यां पाहिला हा मेळावा I तंव गोत्रवर्गु आघवाI देखिला एथ II 193 II
हे संग्रामी उदित I जहाले असती कीर समस्त I पण आपणपेयां उचित I केवीं होय II 194 II
येणे नांवेचि नेणों कायीI मज आपणपें सर्वथा नाहीं I मनोबुद्धी ठायीं I स्थिर नोहे II 195 II
देखें देह कांपत I तोंड असे कोरडें होत I विकळता उपजत गात्रांसीही II 196 II
सर्वांगा कांटाळा आला I अतिसंतापु उपनला I तेथ बेंबळ हातु गेला I गांडीवाचा II 197 II
तें न धरतचि निष्टलें I परी नेणेंचि हातोनि पडिलें I ऐसें हृदय असे व्यापिलें I मोहें येणें II 198 II

जेणें संग्रामीं हरु जिंतिला I निवातकवचांचा ठावा फेडिला I तो अर्जुन मोहें कवळिलाI क्षणामाजी II 200 II
जैसा भ्रमर भेदी कोडें I भलतैसें काष्ठ कोरडें I परी कळिकेमाजीं सांपडे I कोंवळिये II 201 II
तेथ उत्तीर्ण होइईल प्राणें I परी तें कमळदळ चिरुं नेणे I तैसें कठिण कोंवळेपणें I स्नेह देखा II 202 II
हे आदिपुरुषाची माया I ब्रम्हेयाही नयेचि आया I म्हणऊनि भुलविला ऐकें रायाI संजयो म्हणे II 203 II
अवधारी मग तो अर्जुनु I देखोनि सकळ स्वजनु I विसरला अभिमानु I संग्रामींचा II 204 II
कैसी नेणों सदयता I उपनली तेथें चित्ता I मग म्हणे कृष्णा आतां I नसिजे एथ II 205 II
माझें अतिशयें मन व्याकुळ I होतसे वाचा बरळ I जे वधावे हे सकळ I येणें नावें II 206 II


Once confident and heroic, Arjun admits his confusion and earnestly seeks Lord Krishna's wisdom. In his moment of despair, Arjun turns to Lord Krishna for guidance, expressing his inability to decide between his duty and his feelings. His heartfelt plea, "I am confused about my duty and am besieged with anxiety... Please instruct me for certain what is best for me"
This moment highlights the importance of self-reflection and the need for a guru in moments of doubt.
At the heart of Arjun's turmoil is the sight of his own kin, friends, and teachers on the battlefield. Overwhelmed with sorrow, fear, and attachment, Arjun is unable to summon the strength to fight despite knowing it is his duty as a warrior. This emotional conflict grows into a moral dilemma as he begins to question the righteousness of the war. Arjun's inner confusion and his struggle with attachment to his loved ones symbolise the universal human experience of being caught between duty and emotion.
A chill ran through him. He felt,
his body shaking, the mouth turned dry and the vitality sapped out from the limbs so much so that it was difficult for him to hold his bow Gandiv firmly in his hand. It slipped out of his hands, yet he was unaware of it been deeply saddened.
The mighty Gandiv was known to be harder than rock and also known for the terror it evoked, yet Arjun's attachment to his loved ones proved to be more potent.
It was this attachment that brought to knees the mighty Arjun who had once defeated Lord Shiva in a duel and also wiped out the mighty Nivatakavachas, a group of daityas.
The Bumblebee nestles into the soft fragrant lotus centre, to suck honey, but when the lotus shuts its petals at dusk, the bee is trapped inside. Also known as the carpenter bee because it can drill a hole through hard wood, but the sensuous luxury of the soft lotus intoxicates him into a helplessness and he bores not the lotus, rather dying in its embrace. Indeed the soft stuff like attachment is the hardest to resist.
This attachment is Maya, the deceptive nature of the material world, which makes us perceive things differently from their true essence. It creates a veil of ignorance, distorting our perception of reality and trapping us in the cycle of attachment and suffering. And so said Sanjay to Drutarashtra, it is the same Maya that deceived even Lord Bramha at times swayed Arjun from his purpose on the battlefield. Sanjay continued, seeing his relatives on the enemy side, Arjun was filled with anguish and doubts about fighting them, and hence implored Lord Krishna to take him back. Killing them all is something he found difficult to fathom and found himself lost for words."

"Arjun said that killing the Kauravas' would be the same as killing the Pandavas'. Being deeply distressed at the prospect of killing his own kin and respected elders he said, "I see no use of killing my kinsmen in battle and desire neither victory, nor pleasure nor kingdom. Surely there must be a way out of this impasse than committing this sin of killing your loved ones. And therefore we must do everything possible to avoid this conflict."
