ऐकें जयाच प्राणियाच्या ठायीं I इया ज्ञानाची आवडी नाहीं I तयाचें जियालें म्हणों काई I वरी मरण चांग II 192 II
शून्य जैसें गृह I कां चैतन्येंवीण देह I तैसें जीवित तें संमोह I ज्ञानहीन II 193 II
अथवा ज्ञान कीर आपु नोहे I परि ते चाड एकी जरी वाहे I तरी तेथ जिव्हाळा काहीं आहे I प्राप्तीचा पैं II 194 II
वांचूनि ज्ञानाची गोठी कायसी I परि ते आस्थाही न घरी मानसीं I तरी तो संशयरूप हुताशीं I पडिला जाण II 195 II
जे अमृतही परि नावडे I ऐसें सावियाचि आरोचकु जैं पडे I तैं मरण आलें असे फुडें I जाणों एकीं II 196 II
तैसा विषयसुखें रंजे I जो ज्ञानेंसींचि माजे I तो संशये अंगिकारिजे I एथ भ्रांति नाहीं II 197 II
मग संशयीं जरि पडिला I तरी निभ्रांत जाणें नासला I तो ऐहिकपरत्रा मुकला I सुखासि गा II 198 II
जया काळज्वरु आंगी बाणे I तो शीतोष्णें जैशीं नेणें I आगी आणि चांदिणे I सरिसेंचि मानी II 199 II
तैसें साच आणि लटिकें I विरुद्ध आणि निकें I संशयी तो नोळखे I हिताहित II 200 II
हा रात्रिदिवसु पाहीं I जैसा जात्यंधा ठाउवा नाहीं I तैसेंसंशयी असतां कांहीं I मना न ये II 201 II

"Addressing Arjun Lord Krishna said, his living is not worthwhile who doesn't understand the significance of this KNOWLEDGE. Such life is as futile as a house in ruins or a lifeless corpse. The KNOWLEDGE may not be there, but if One has respect for it then also all is not lost. The person who lacks KNOWLEDGE and has no respect for it is destined to die in the fire of delusion. When death is near, even the divine nectar Amrut turns taste-less. Similarly KNOWLEDGE falls on deaf ears for the person addicted to the sense gratification. The peace of mind is lost. Just like the person running fever cannot distinguish between heat and cold, finds the fire and the soothing moonlight not distict experiences, the delusion robs the person of his sense of discrimination, thus hindering him from making distinction between truth and falsehood, good and bad, irrelevant and suited. The delusional person is like the born blind who cannot distinguish between the day and night."
