"Sanjay said to Dhrutarashtra, let me draw your attention to what Arjun asked after listening to all that Lord Krishna said in the past and in their present dialogue. The episode that follows is an encyclopedia in itself of different shades of meanings, an epitome of rasas', an aesthetic flavour of any work that evokes an indescribable feeling. Rasa embodies the emotional essence of devotional relationships, particularly with Lord Krishna, expressing various moods of love. It captures the flavor of experiences that connect devotees with the divine. The Eight rasas encompass eight fundamental emotional states : love, humor, lamentation, anger, heroism, fear, disgust, and wonderment, each symbolizing deep aesthetic experiences, ultimately culminating in the essence of Shanta. When one is completely free from all doubts and material attachments, he attains the Shanta-rasa. It is here the Wise experience the state of tranquility and neutrality, a state of peacefulness and calmness.
This episode talks in length about the Shanta rasa. Listening it in Marathi language is a delightful experience because of the subtle nuances of its words that evoke the meaning deeper than the ocean. The sun is seen as a round small object from the earth, yet it illuminates the entire world and beyond, so is the Marathi language that encompasses not only the spoken words but also the nuances of meaning, social context, and cultural understanding conveyed through language. It's words convey the meaning according to what is sought just like Kalpavruksha, the divine tree that grants wishes. Let me have your attention is my sincere request. Just like a woman who is beautiful, virtuous and belongs to a respected household is above all faithful to her husband, so are the words of Marathi language that blend meaning and the state of tranquility in the right balance. Sugar is favoured because of its sweetness, but if it is also given as a medicine then it's worth to have it again and again. Just like the gentle, fragrant wind over Malay mountain if gets the flavour of the divine nectar Amrut and sound melodious too, then it's feather touch would soothe the mind, the sweetness lingers on the tongue and a sweet melodious sound whispering in the ears is a fulfilling experience. So is Listening to the Gita, meaning actively engaging with the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita by listening to its verses being read or explained, allowing us to absorb its profound wisdom about life, duty, and Self-Realization, essentially providing guidance on how to navigate the challenges of everyday life with ethical conduct and spiritual awareness. If enemy is killed by chanting mantra, what is the use of wielding a sword? Or if the disease is cured by consuming sugar milk, there is no need to drink bitter juice of neem, similarly by listening to Bhagwad Gita moksha or liberation from the mundane existence comes true. And therefore Dnyandev, the obedient discipline of Sant Nivruttidas urges all to listen Bhagavad Gita attentively, the timeless wisdom on how to live a meaningful life, offering guidance on managing emotions, making ethical decisions, and finding inner peace"
