"Arjun thought, how can I ask to see the Vishwarup that before today not even the beloved of Lord sought from Him. Even goddess Laxmi did not find courage to broach the subject to the Lord. Garud serves Lord Vishnu as his divine vehicle and devoted companion, yet he too never asked for it. Then how can I?
The Sanakadi Munis, Sanaka, Sanandana, Sanatana, and Sanatkumara, the mind-born sons of Lord Bramha are renowned for their devotion to Lord Vishnu, yet they too never thought of it. The Gopas (cowherds) and Gopis (milkmaids) of Gokul were beloved of Lord Krishna.Their relationship with Lord Krishna is central to the Bhakti (devotional love), with Radha, symbolizing the soul's yearning for God.
King Ambarish was a devout follower of Lord Vishnu and had undertaken an Ekadashi (fasting on the 11th day of the lunar fortnight). Sage Durvas, a powerful but ill-tempered sage, came to Ambarish's kingdom for a meal, which was part of the king's fast-breaking ritual. Sage Durvas went to the river to bathe and wash up, telling Ambarish to wait for his return to break the fast. The auspicious time to break the fast was nearing, and Ambarish, to prevent his fast from being void, took a sip of water, breaking his fast in Durvasa's absence. When Durvasa returned and learned that Ambarish had already broken his fast, he became extremely angry. He cursed King Ambarish to be born in many yonis in the following births. The ten incarnations of Lord Vishnu, Dashavtaras are to protect King Ambarish from this curse of Durwasa. None of these beloved of Lord had the privilege of Vishwaroop Darshan, the seeing of the all-encompassing, multi-dimensional, and miraculous true form of the Supreme Being, a spiritual spectacle that provides a profound understanding of the divine. Arjun thought, then how can I ask for its revelation? And if I don't seek it, there will be no peace to my mind, so much that even living would be difficult without it. So better I start speaking my mind slowly and then allow it proceed by His Will. So he began. Though his words were little hesitant in the beginning, their profoundness made the Vishwaroop unfold before his eyes in all its splendour. The cow seeing her calf, finds her maternal instincts flared and then even a touch of the calf's mouth on the udder is enough for the milk to spurt. Similarly how can Lord Krishna, who supported the Pandavas even during their exile by providing them with invaluable advice, protection, would let Arjun's calling go unheard? Lord Krishna is seen as the embodiment of pure love. With His beloved Arjun, love reaches zenith symbolizing a deeply cherished and idealized experience of love. In this state how can they be distinguished from each other? Sant Dnyaneshwar said, let me have your attention for what follows is, at the request of Arjun, Lord Krishna displayed His Vishwaroop (Universal Cosmic Form)."
