तूं अझुनि कां न विचारिसी I काय हें चिंतितु आहासी I स्वधर्मु तो विसरलासी I तरावें जेणें II 180 II
या कौरवां भलतें जाहलें I अथवा तुजचि कांहीं पातलें I कीं युगचि हें बुडालें I जऱ्ही एथ II 181 II
तरी स्वधर्मु एक आहे I तो सर्वथा त्याज्य नोहे I मग तरिजेल काइ पाहें I कृपाळूपणें II 182 II
अर्जुना तुझें चित्त I जऱ्ही जाहलें द्रवीभूत I तऱ्ही हें अनुचित I संग्रामसमयीं II 183 II
अगा गोक्षीर जरी जाहलें I तरी पथ्यासि नाहीं म्हणितलें I ऐसेनिहि विष होय सुदलें I नवज्वरीं देतां II 184 II
तैसे आनी आन करितां I नाशु होईल हिता I म्हणऊनि तूं आतां I सावध होईं II 185 II
वायांचि व्याकुळ कायी I आपुला निजधर्मु तूं पाहीं I जो आचरितां बाधु नाहीं I कवणे काळीं II 186 II
जैसें मागेचि चालतां I अपावो न पवे सर्वथा I कां दीपाधारें न वर्ततां I नाडळिजे II 187 II
तयापरी पार्था I स्वधर्में राहाटतां I सकळ कामपूर्णता I सहजें होय II 188 II
म्हणोनि तूं पाहीं I तुम्हां क्षत्रियां आणीक काहीं I संग्रामावांचूनि नाहीं I उचित जाणें II 189 II
निष्कपटा होआवें I उसिणा घाईं जुंझावें I हें असो काय सांगावें I प्रत्यक्षावरी II 190 II

"Why are you not giving a conscious thought to it? What is going on in your mind? Why are you neglecting your duty as a warrior to uphold Dharma (righteousness) by engaging in the battle, even if it means fighting against loved ones? Asked Lord Krishna to Arjun. Whatever may happen to Kauravas' or even to you or even if the battlefield turns into a worldly deluge, one must always abide by duty, fulfill his duty as a warrior without being swayed by personal emotions. And even if you let go of your duty, do you think your kindness is going to serve any purpose? Your heart gone soft is unjust especially on the verge of war. Just like if the cow's milk, despite being told not to be had by a person suffering from fever, if given turns into poison, similarly doing things, however noble they may seem, but ignoring the demand of the situation do no good. And so get back your resolve at the earliest urged Lord Krishna to Arjun. Why are you subjecting yourself to sorrow unnecessarily? Performing one's duties honestly and with a sense of social responsibility acting in harmony with one's inborn nature for the good of society and the individual is highest. Just like walking on a familiar path is always safe or just like walking in the light of the lamp lessens the chances of an accident, similarly following one's duty honestly never fails. Do understand this that Kshatriya's duty is to fight for a righteous cause and exhibit outstanding valor. A kshatriya should not hesitate to carry out their duty as a warrior taking the enemy head on. But now enough is enough. There is no need to elaborate more for something so obvious."
