"Lord Krishna smiled and said to Arjun, I find your words amusing. He said, in this fundamental one-ness of reality where the individual soul is not separate from the Supreme Consciousness but rather a manifestation of Him, no one is giver, someone who offers or provides something. Similarly no one is receiver either who accepts or receives that offering. The endless cycle of death and rebirth is but a nightmare in the slumber of ignorance. The nightmare comes to an end with the awakening of KNOWLEDGE, a call to higher consciousness and deeper mental awareness. And the realization dawns leading to a deeper understanding of oneself and the world, often accompanied by a sense of purpose and connection to something larger than oneself. And therefore Lord Krishna said, the firm belief that "I am this body" itself is self- destructive."
