"The Mahatattva comprises of 25 constituents, known as tattvas. These include Prakruti (matter), Purush (Energy), and 23 further elements that evolve from Prakruti, encompassing various aspects of experience, from gross elements to subtle senses and the mind.
They are:
1) Mahat (Cosmic Intelligence)
2) Buddhi (Intellect)
3) Ahankar ("I" Consciousness)
4) Five Mahabhutas (Gross Elements): The five fundamental elements of the physical world: ether, air, fire, water and earth.
5) Five Dnyanendriyas'
The five sense organs that experience the external world: hearing, touch, sight, taste, and smell.
6) Five Karmendriyas
The five senses that facilitate action: speech, hands, feet, genitals, and anus.
7) Five Tanmatras', the subtle elements that correspond to our five senses: sound (shabda), touch (sparsha), form (rupa), taste (rasa), and smell (gandha). They are the foundational qualities of perception, representing the subtle forms of the five gross elements
24) Prakruti (Matter):
The fundamental, unmanifest,  unchangeable and eternal entity from which the universe evolves.
25) Purush ( Eternal Energy):
These tattvas' are not simply a list of elements but represent a dynamic system of evolution, where one tattva leads to the next, ultimately resulting in the manifestation of the universe.
Lord Krishna said, the point of enquiry is how to transcend Maya, the manifestation of Mahatattva to become one with My True Self. River Maya originates from the steep rock face of the mountain Supreme Reality. With a strong current of the "first thought" or initial intention that leads to actions and the creation of the world it went ahead. Then came a bubble of Panchmahabhutas. With the unfolding of Creation bound by time its waters overflow Pravrutti- Nivrutti. Pravrutti is being actively engaged in worldly pursuits, while Nivrutti signifies detachment and renunciation from worldly activities. Being full due to showers of Sattva, Rajas, Tamas gunas', it's fast moving and strong current swept away the cities Yama-Niyama, the foundational ethical and moral  disciplines. The river Maya has whirlpools of hatred, sharp turns of envy and has big fish of frenzy. It is full of twists and turns of worldly life. It has floods of Karma and Akarma, with debris of pleasures and sufferings floating on it.
('Akarma' are actions that do not bind one to the cycle of rebirth, while 'karma' refers to actions that do.)"
