"Waves of sensual pleasures keep striking the shores of the river Maya and the beings engrossed in sense gratification are like the froth or foam on the shores. With the strong current of "I" Consciousness, comes pride of knowledge, pride of wealth and pride over power one possesses, also there are waves of sensual gratification. Just like rising and setting of sun and moon, there is an endless cycle of birth, death and rebirth. Each being comprised of the Panchamabhootas' is like a bubble. Acting without reason and confusion are the fish that tear the flesh of courage, swallow and remain entangled in the self inflicted vortex. In the river Maya, the muddiness of the delusion makes one trade their faith in exchange of their place in heaven. The echo of Rajo Guna is thus heard in far off heaven. The river Maya has many and forceful streams of Tamo Guna as compared with the steady flow of Sattva Guna. It is very wicked, ruthless and hence very difficult to transcend for the mundane. The cycle of birth, death and rebirth striking again and again breaks the bastions thus unleashing the boulders of Bramhanda or the Supreme Reality.
(A bastion is a structure projecting outward from the curtain wall of a fortification, often angular in shape, designed for defense).
The "strong current of the river Maya" is the powerful illusion of the material world, which binds individuals to a cycle of desire, attachment, and suffering. This illusion is described as a constant stream that pulls beings towards the material realm, making it difficult to escape."
