"Illustrating the significance of the time of death Lord Krishna said, illumination within the body accompanied by the auspicious Shukla Paksha, the brighter phase of the moon and a day belonging to highly auspicious Uttarayan, the period of the Sun's northward movement, considered to be six months long, the yogis' who depart this world during such specific auspicious times attain oneness with the Supreme Consciousness, not be reborn. The first step on the path of spiritual ascension is fire within the body, the second is the flame of fire, third is the time of the day and fourth is the Shukla Paksha. The highest is the six months of Uttarayan. Following these steps the yogis' attain "Sayujya", the ultimate state of merging or union with the divine, a complete dissolution of the individual self into the divine consciousness. It is called as "Archira Marga", or the path of light. It is described as the route taken by enlightened souls to reach the Supreme Reality (Brahma) after death.
Lord Krishna said, let Me now illustrate to you the time inappropriate for death."
