जाणतेनि तंवचि जियावें I जंव अपकीर्ती आंगा न पवे I आणि सांग पां केवीं निगावें I एथोनियां II 202 II
तूं निर्मत्सरु सदयता I येथूनि निघसील कीर माघौता I परी ते गति समस्तां I न मनेल ययां II 203 II
हें चहूंकडूनि वेढितील I बाणवरी घेतील I तेथ पार्था न सुटिजेल I कृपाळूपणें II 204 II
ऐसेनिहि प्राणसंकटें I जरी विपायें पां निघणें घटे I तरी तें जियालें वोखटें I मरणाहुनि II 205 II

"And therefore not following your prescribed duty will be a gross wrongdoing. Even the end of the world will not erase the indelible mark this misdeed will leave behind. It is better to die than living with infamy. Giving up enmity you may withdraw from the battlefield with sad heart, but tell me Arjun asked Lord Krishna, how would your enemies know of your state of mind? When they will surround you and shoot arrows at you, your kind and gracious heart will not come to your rescue. And despite this even if you manage to save yourself from this onslaught, the disgraceful life ahead will be worst than the death."
