ना तरी रणीं एथ I झुंजतां वेंचलें जीवित I तरी स्वर्गसुख अनकळित I पावसील II 220 II
म्हणोनि ये गोठी I विचारु न करीं किरीटी I आतां धनुष्य घेऊनि उठीं I जुंझ वेगीं II 221 II
देखें स्वधर्मु हा आचरतां I दोषु नाशे असता I तुज भ्रांति हे कवण चित्ता I पातकाची II 222 II
सांगें प्लवेंचि काय बुडिजे I कां मार्गीं जातां आडळिजे I परी विपायें चालों नेणिजे I तरी तेंही घडे II 223 II
अमृतें तरीचि मरिजे I जरी विखेंसीं सेविजे I तैसा स्वधर्मींं दोषु पाविजे I हेतुकपणें II 224 II
म्हणोनियां पार्था I हेतु सांडूनि सर्वथा I तुज क्षात्रवृत्ती झुंजतां I पाप नाहीं II 225 II

"And even if you die on the battlefield you will go to heaven.  Therefore instead of giving it more thought its time to get into action and get ready to confront the enemy with your bow and arrows. Lord Krishna said, following Swa-dharma or doing Prescribed duties removes the sins already present, then from where this illusionary idea has come to your mind that this act in itself can be sinful? Can the man who has a boat at his disposal sink? Would the man following a familiar path stumble? The one who has trouble walking may trip or lose the balance even on the familiar path. Just like Amrut or divine nectar mixed with poison cannot prevent the death, following Swa-dharma or one's Prescribed duties with selfish motivations and the expectation of receiving something in return is sinful. And therefore Lord Krishna urged Arjun, if you perform your duty as a warrior just like a kshatriya is supposed to do, without allowing your emotions to interfere then it is absolutely sin-less."
